FODZYME is Monash University Low FODMAP Certified and FODMAP Friendly Certified. In-vitro studies have shown that FODZYME can degrade up to 90% of a test fructan amount within 30 minutes, and can increase the absorption of fructose while preserving beneficial short-chain fatty acid production.
FODZYME's targeted formula includes a fructan hydrolase enzyme, lactase, and alpha-galactosidase, with dextrin as a stabilizer. This powder formulation maximizes the enzymes' ability to integrate with and break down FODMAPs, unlike capsules which can reduce their efficacy.
FODZYME can be used on foods high in fructan, GOS, and lactose, but not on those high in polyols. It significantly reduces fructan in wheat products, but does not address the gluten content.
